Insurance &
Peace of Mind

Travelling with ELUR means enjoying Tasmania without unnecessary stress.

Every ELUR electric campervan is comprehensively insured, with clear, transparent coverage designed to support responsible, premium travel.

This page explains how insurance works in plain English, so you know exactly what to expect before you book.

What Insurance Is Included with Your ELUR Booking

All ELUR vehicles include insurance as part of your rental.

Included coverage

  • Comprehensive vehicle insurance
  • Third-party property damage
  • Third-party personal injury

This coverage applies when the vehicle is used in line with ELUR’s Terms & Conditions and driven by an authorised driver.

How the Insurance Excess Works

If the vehicle is damaged, stolen, or involved in an incident during your rental:

  • A standard insurance excess applies
  • Your financial responsibility is limited to the excess amount
  • Excess details are clearly disclosed before booking confirmation

The excess is not charged unless an incident occurs and is assessed in line with insurer guidelines.

What You’re Responsible For

Insurance coverage relies on responsible vehicle use.

You are required to:

  • Drive in accordance with road laws
  • Follow ELUR’s vehicle and EV charging guidance
  • Ensure only approved drivers operate the vehicle

Failure to meet these conditions may affect insurance coverage.

What Is Not Covered by Rental Insurance

Like all rental vehicle insurance, some items are not covered.

These include:

  • Personal belongings inside the vehicle
  • Interior damage caused by misuse or neglect
  • Damage from unauthorised drivers
  • Off-road or prohibited use
  • Issues caused by incorrect or unsafe EV charging

For this reason, we recommend personal travel insurance.

Electric Vehicle Insurance Considerations

ELUR vehicles are fully electric, and insurance applies when they are charged and operated correctly.

Insurance does not cover:

  • Damage caused by incompatible charging equipment
  • Improper charging practices
  • Ignoring battery management guidance provided at handover

Clear EV guidance is provided before departure to ensure confidence and ease.

What to Do If an Incident Occurs

If you experience an accident, damage, or issue:

  1. Ensure safety first
  2. Contact ELUR as soon as possible
  3. Record relevant details and photos where safe
  4. Do not admit fault or liability

Prompt communication helps protect both you and ELUR under insurance arrangements.

Do I Need My Own Travel Insurance?

While vehicle insurance is included, ELUR strongly recommends that guests take out personal travel insurance to cover:

  • Personal belongings
  • Medical expenses
  • Trip interruption or cancellation
  • Personal liability beyond vehicle cover

This ensures complete peace of mind while travelling.

How This Fits with Our Terms & Conditions

This page provides a summary only and should be read together with:

  • Terms & Conditions (Rental & Booking)
  • Insurance & Liability Overview

These documents form part of your rental agreement.

Why ELUR Keeps Insurance Simple

Our approach to insurance reflects our broader philosophy:

  • Clear expectations
  • No hidden surprises
  • Calm, confident travel

We believe understanding insurance upfront allows you to relax and enjoy the journey.
